Why I have chosen to say Gardening Services rather than Garden Maintenance, it a question often asked of me, it because I provide a reliable recurring service that is an ongoing process to improve your garden whereby maintenance is just that, maintaining something to the same standard you find it, and of course it all starts with that initial first cut to what ever you do in the garden, from cutting turf to plant, cutting grass to cutting the hedge it just seemed that my company name was already there. And Gwasanaeth is Service in Welsh, whereby maintenance is chynnal a chadw, which is not really used in our every day working Welsh language where Gwasanaeth is used within our daily welsh language.
My experience of working on the land and keeping it all in good conditions stems from my childhood where growing up on the farm, every spring into summer it was an ongoing job keeping bracken and brambles under control from spreading from the hedgerows into the fields, and cutting and trimming the hedges all throughout the farm, this was ongoing until I got married and we had our house and I turned my knowlege from the farm onto my garden and my own hedges. After leaving school I went to Glynllifon Agriculture College, I had horticulture as part of the curicilum and I enjoyed it immensley, although it took many years before I actually delved back into what I was taught there.
How it all started, it was early 1990s and I had a friend that did grass cutting and asked for some work so we gave him our lawn next to the house to cut on a fortnightley basis, and all of a suddenly he said that he could not do it any more as our house was too far out of the village for him. And he seemed to have told a few people the same thing and they were left without a gardener, so my wife and myself went out and bought our first rotary self-propelled lawn mower that was bigger than a normal domestic one at the time, so I started mowing our lawn again and the other people that were left in the lurch so to speak and I really enjoyed it, so I bought a strimmer for the areas the lawn mower could not do, and as I was bringing more and more of other peoples garden under as I was doing more gardening work that grass cutting really.
The properties I did gardening work for there friends came over and remarked on how good the place was looking and asked if I could do gardening work for them as well, and so I invested in more equipment in order to provide a gardening service, and as I was doing more gardens I purchased more equipment, in 2019 bought my first large van, and racked it out so there is a full selection of gardening equipment with me all the time.
I have modern equipment but old fashioned values, I treat my customers gardens like my own, I like things to look nice and tidy, so for my regular customers my gardening services I tend to anything from overgrown borders and hedges and protruding branches from trees to of course grass cutting, so it keeps everything looking good.
