Bylchau is on the a mountain area known as ffridd, this is where land is not mountainous but is not the best grazing land, the local farmers are the best of there kind in this area, as they have over generations turned this ffridd land into grazing land.
On the Denbighmoors you have the best views of the Snowdonia mountains, on a clear day the mountains can be seen from Conwy (Carneddau) all the way to Trefor (Yr Eifl).
The highest pub in Wales is on this mountain, The Sportmans Arms, so called after the hunting season held at Gwylfa Hiraethog the ruins above the pub on top of the Mountain. The ruins are known by the older locals as Castell Pren, Wooden Castle, as in mid 1800s the first building here was a wooden one. The spot the ruins are on now is one of the best places to take pictures of the stars and the galaxies such as the Milkyway, many a picture can be googled from this point that are stunning of our night sky.
Bylchau has a Church St Thomas, and if you visit Denbigh, Denbigh Castle is only a few miles down the road.
