Llanfairfechan is a charming Victorian seaside town situated between the Carneddau mountains and the Menai Straits in Conwy County along the North Wales coast.
Perfectly placed to enjoy the beautiful blue flag beach, promenade and bird reserve, Llanfairfechan offers a peaceful holiday base to explore all that North Wales has to offer. Whether your interest lies in beaches and hills, nature or adrenaline fuelled activities, North Wales has it all.
Llanfairfechan’s lengthy promenade runs along the coast and forms part of the North Wales Path. It takes in the picturesque Victorian multicoloured houses and Pavilion cafe, followed by the boating lake, now home to a family of swans, and numerous outdoor leisure facilities. Heading west from the central seafront facilities, the coast path takes you past a row of Arts & Crafts houses towards Glan Mor Elias nature reserve. A must see for any bird lover.
The centre of the town has a variety of services, from the Village Store, Co-op and Butchers to a delightful craft shop featuring a wide selection of gifts made by local artists.
Llanfairfechan is host to two schools, Ysgol Babanod infant school and Ysgol Pant Y Rhedyn junior school, a Town Hall, several pubs and eateries. For function hire, the Split Willow is a pretty venue suitable for a host of events including weddings. The local pubs, of which there are 4 serve a selection of beers, ales and even the ever popular Aber Falls Gin.
Heading up through the town, the roads lead you up towards Nant Y Coed nature reserve and the mountains of Snowdonia beyond where a fantastic panoramic view awaits. For history lovers, Llanfairfechan is home to druid circles on the hill tops which can be reached via the North Wales Path.
