Gardening Seasons
The following sets out how my gardening season runs through the year.
January and February
During this time is when I contact my existing customers to provide confirmation of this years prices and if there are any changes in the service charge for there garden. This also allows me to know if any customers decide not to secure my gardening services for this year, this will let me know if I have any availability to take on new customers in specific areas.
March:
This is the start of my gardening season, this is a mixture of gardening and some grass cutting, and sorting out new customers gardens ready for the season.
April:
I take two weeks holiday in April, as the winter works is over and just before the grass cutting season really kicks off.
April. May and June:
Grass cutting takes most of my time from April to June.
July and August:
In true British weather 2023 has been wet since July, so I was working full days all gardens and lawns grew really well this year. And in the last previous years July and August have been extremely hot and it has not been possible to carry out normal gardening work, so looking back to 2021 and 2022, I could be working half days during these months.
September and October:
Grass cutting is slowing down, and it now I start looking what has finished flowering and needs cutting back and what has over grown and will require pruning back in the oncoming colder months.
October:
I do take two weeks holiday in October at the end of the grass cutting season.
October, November and December:
Pruning and cutting back is carried out during these months:
December, January and February
From Christmas time to the end of February the winter weather can stop any gardening work going on, so only a few gardens will be serviced inbetween the winter weather where gardening work can be carried out.
One Offs and Special Gardening Service:
On occasions for garden clearances or pruning large bushes and shrubs, this type of work can be carried out on weekends but they need to be booked in plenty of time as to fit in with my regular customers work.
